TITLE

The Association shall be called the St Peter's Association incorporating Northgate and Blackfriars Associations

AIM

The aim of the Association is to represent the interests of residents and traders in or about The St Peter's Blackfriars and Northgate areas of Canterbury in matters affecting their environment and welfare.

ELIGIBILITY

All residents and traders in the above areas are eligible for membership of the Association, but persons who are or become members or officials of the Council or other public bodies will not be eligible to serve on the committee without the consent of a majority of the Committee.

The association is non-political, non denominational and non-profit making.

OFFICERS AND COMMITTEE. The business of the Association shall be conducted by the Officers, comprising a Chairman, Vice Chairman, Secretary and a Treasurer, assisted by a committee of not less than five nor more than ten members. Members, other than those co-opted, shall each have one vote.

PROCEDURE AT AGM

A general meeting of the Association shall be held every year on a date to be fixed by the committee at which:

a) Nominations for and election of officers and members of the committee to serve for a period of up to three years shall be made.

b) All elections and resolutions shall be decided by the majority vote of all members present on a show of hands and in the event of a tie the Chairman shall have a second or casting vote.

c) The audited accounts for the preceding year shall be presented for approval and a honary auditor appointed for the succeeding year.

d) The annual subscription for the succeeding year will be proposed and agreed.

FINANCIAL

a) Payment for all routine and administration expenses of the Association which do not exceed £100 per item may be authorised by two of the officers.

b) All other payments shall require the authorisation of the Committee.

c) All cheques shall be signed by two of the officers.

COMMITTEE VACANCIES

In the event of vacancies occurring on the Committee the Chairman in consultation with the Committee may co-opt any member to serve until the next Annual General Meeting.

COMMITTEE MEETINGS

The committee shall meet at least 9 times a year and five members shall constitute a quorum.
