Aims and objectives

• To promote, encourage and improve the amenities, safety and environment of the communities of St Peter's, Blackfriars, Northgate and adjoining areas.
  

• To evaluate objectively all proposals, whether public or private which may affect these communities.
  

• To liaise with organisations with similar aims.
  

• To represent the communities to Canterbury City Council and other third parties.
  

The SPA is recognised by Canterbury City Council. It has joined the local Neighbourhood Watch scheme, working closely with the Local Police.
